Camponotus saundersi

Ever heard of an exploding ant?

Camponotus saundersi, an endangered Malaysian carpenter ant species, will explode their bodies under threat, releasing poison stored in glands in their bodies to defend their nest.

More about them here

Apparently finding a video about the ants in the action of exploding is hard over the web, but this leaves us to our wild imaginations of how the ants actually do it.

WOW!
