Oh's garden farm tour

A trip to Oh's garden farm in Singapore. We ended with a phototaking session at the Butterfly Lodge. Pretty pretty butterflies, there art thou~

These caterpillars are worth a third, forth look!
At the farm...

These barrels contain a mixture of chemical nutrients used for the growth of the plants via hydroponics at the farm
My rabbits would just love to frolick on top of this truck!
This well is where the water-fertiliser is stored and channelled to the greenhouses.

Seeds are placed in a sponge and cultivated

Overview of the farm:

Evolution Garden

A trip to Evolution Gardens at Botanic Gardens organised by my Planet Earth's module. The whole garden was like a walking timeline, various plants representing different eras were planted along the path, so you can actually get to see the changes, or evolvement, of the plants as you stroll by.

I shall let the pictures speak for themselves; go to the Evolution Garden to see more! Pictures best seen from bottom up.

Ammionites; fossilized remains of prehistoric life
Dinosaur footprints!

Snippets of the past few months2

Dog-faced Water Snake (Cerebus rynchops) my first sighting at P. Semakau! There's also the Banded File Snake (Acrochordus granulatus) but I couldnt get a good picture of it.
Beautiful sunsets over at Pulau Semakau reefs; there's always beautiful sunsets at good days, one reason why we should let this place be as it is.
Sea cucumber (Holothuria sp.)
Thunder Crab (Myomenippe hardwickii) with no front two claws. Poor thing!

The following pictures are taken from Shrimp Workshop held at DBS:
Spider that lives in the water, i forgot the name >.< Snapping shrimp (Alpheus sp.). Snapping shrimps have one claw bigger than the other. This big claw is used to make a 'snap' sound (which comes at a speed of lightning) that stuns prey.
Skeleton shrimp. Looks so creepy!
These are dead prawns
A misc picture: Green Crested Lizard (Bronchocela jubata), native to Singapore. Saw this at Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve
